Support Services

Students are supported through various personnel within the College whether it be through academic assistance for language backgrounds other than English (NESB); Learning Difficulties; or those Gifted and Talented students requiring further challenge and stimulation. The College Counsellor’s are also available to support students in need as required.

Students are supported through either withdrawal or in-class support.

Support staff assist classroom teachers with strategies or materials to support the student within the classroom. St Pius does not offer a support unit or alternative curriculum. Standard courses are adjusted to enable the students to access the curriculum to the best of their ability while remaining in the main stream.

Special Provisions in assessment tasks are available for any student with an identified need and appropriate supporting documentation, as required by the Board of Studies.
